Formula D Title Fight – Irwindale 10.7-8.2011

Another year, another season of Formula D. Not having Formula D at Sonoma was a blessing in disguise as it made me travel to watch drifting. I was not only able to go back to House of Drift but also watch Formula D at Las Vegas for the first time. Going back to Irwindale was great as I have not been there since Vaughn Gittin won D1 there. The Title Fight was nothing short of exciting to say the least, as Dai narrowly captured the 2011 Formula D Championship. On top of that Bay Area racer Tyler McQuarrie also to top podium spot in what may be his last year as a Falken driver. So a last congrats to Dai and Tyler and on to the photos, part one.

Blox Open House 06.11.2011

This was Blox second open house. I did not attend last year so I was not sure what to expect. The show was free and featured many of the known Bay Area show cars. There was a good mix of cars to please most spectators as well as motorcycles and Ruckus’. If you missed out this year, be sure to look out to see if Blox opens their doors next year. One car of note in attendance was Loreto Garcia’s teal EK, Super Street’s cover car for July.

Eibach Honda Meet 05.15.2011

This was my first time at the Eibach meet, and it did not disappoint. The only bummer was that it rained when we arrived. Luckily the rain stopped around 12:00. And her i thought LA was always sunny and warm. There were the usual suspects when it comes to Honda show cars, but there were some I have not seen before. Overall, the quality was top notch and except for the rain had a great time admiring the cars and snapping pictures. We even got a tour of Eibach’s facility and came out with a souvenir spring with “Honda Meet” and “2011″ stamped on the coil.

I had a chance to check out the world champs in their home opener. All I can say is it was torture. Final score 5-4 Giants in 12 innings.

I would just like to first thank the organizers for a great show they put together in such a short time. I was honored to be a show participant though my car was not of show quality. It was a tough battle just to get to the show but I made it though an hour late. But it was all for a good cause and some fun amongst friends.

Wekfest III – Fort Mason: 2.20.2011

Another chilly Sunday in The Bay, but this Sunday was a little different. It was Wekfest which has grown from a little show during Cherry Blossom at JapanTown, to its own show in the garage of the very same place, to what it is this year at Fort Mason. The line to get in was a feat with hundreds of people lined out to the street. Once inside, the ocean of people continued between rolls of cars stretching two halls. But enough with my ramblings, I present part 1 of Wekfest III.
